About Us
Sonia M. Rustici Law Office, PLLC provides focused estate planning, trust administration, and probate services to individuals and families. The practice is built on decades of hands-on experience guiding clients through the preparation, funding, and administration of estate plans, as well as supporting executors, trustees, and fiduciaries through probate and trust matters.
Estate planning is not one-size-fits-all. Each client’s situation, assets, and goals are different. The approach at Estate Planning Center is practical, detail-oriented, and grounded in real-world experience, ensuring that estate plans are not only properly drafted but also effectively implemented.
Sonia M. Rustici has worked in the area of estates and trusts since the mid-1990s. Her knowledge of the field spans nearly three decades and includes estate planning, trust administration, probate administration, and fiduciary support.
Sonia began her career in 1994 as an estate and probate paralegal with a prestigious Washington, D.C. law firm. During her tenure, she assisted executors and administrators with probate matters throughout Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. In addition to probate work, she supported attorneys in preparing estate plans for clients, with a particular focus on living trusts.
In 2005, Sonia joined the National Bank of Fredericksburg as a Trust Officer. In this role, she managed trusts, estates, fiduciary accounts, and retirement accounts for high-net-worth clients. She worked closely with fiduciaries, investment advisors, financial institutions, and tax professionals to ensure proper management, documentation, and distribution of assets. She also played a key role in developing new trust business and bringing significant assets under management to the bank.
While working as a Trust Officer, Sonia pursued legal education at Concord Law School, the nation’s first fully online law school. She earned her Juris Doctor degree in 2012 and successfully passed California’s First-Year Law Students’ Examination in 2013.
Sonia later completed Virginia’s historic Thomas Jefferson “Read the Law” program and passed the Virginia Bar Exam in July 2022. She received her Virginia law license in October 2022 and was admitted to practice law by the Supreme Court of Virginia in December 2022.
Her background as both a former Trust Officer and an attorney provides a unique perspective that bridges legal planning with practical financial and administrative realities.
Sonia regularly speaks at estate planning workshops and seminars and partners with affiliated organizations throughout Northern Virginia. She has presented for professional and community organizations, including insurance and financial planning groups, aging and estate-focused associations, and faith-based organizations.
Sonia resides in Stafford, Virginia with her husband, Dr. Thomas C. Rustici. Their children and grandchildren also live in Virginia. Outside of her legal practice, Sonia enjoys playing the piano, painting, and gardening.
Estate Planning Center is committed to providing clear guidance, careful planning, and dependable legal support.
